Day Trips

The scenic Glasshouse Mountains |
The natural beauty of Noosa and the surrounding hinterland area offers visitors many choices for short self-drive day trips for several hours or the whole day. A popular excursion is to the pretty township of Eumundi, just 20 minutes from Noosa Heads, particularly on market days. On the way, stop off at the Eumundi Bi-Centennial Lookout, which is located just off Duke Road in Noosa Valley. The views are panoramic, both to the coast and inland.
For those looking for some scenic rural landscape, travel via Tewantin to Cooroy and visit the Cooroy Butter factory, home of local arts and crafts, then on to Pomona (famous for the annual King of the Mountain event). After checking out the famous hill, travel on to Kin Kin and look through the historic Kin Kin Pub. Beyond Kin Kin is Cooran, where there is a spectacular lookout at the top of the mountain. On the return trip to Noosa, stop at Boreen Point and Lake Cootharaba home of many national sailing championships. Its an idyllic place to wander around and then enjoy a long lazy lunch.
If youre in search of some old English charm and stunning views, then venture south-west to the Blackall Ranges. Only about 40 minutes drive from Noosa are the picturesque townships of Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville and Maleny. As you wind your way through the ranges, stop to admire the natural beauty of the waterfalls and rainforests.
If doing the driving yourself doesnt appeal, day tours from Noosa are available at very reasonable rates.
